Sometimes you just need a little pick-me-up to keep you going through the day that quickly boosts your frame of mind. If you ever feel like this and are not sure of what to do specifically, this post has got you covered! 🙂
Dance like Nobody’s Watching:
It is the best feeling in the world to be in your own little world while you dance your heart out as though nobody is watching you! You could just jam out to an upbeat song or make up some cool choreography.
Sing like Nobody’s Listening:
It is similarly a great experience to sing as though nobody is listening to you! You could pretend you are a professional singer on a stage, in a music video or performing in a musical, maybe even with an accompanying instrument! You could also make your own songs with lyrics and background music if you have the time.
Whether it is a family member, friend or pet, hugging someone is great for making you feel better. Many studies emphasise how amazing hugs are for boosting your mood, so I highly recommend them when you feel a bit down!
The physical act of smiling, although you might not be happy at the time, actually manifests into a genuine feeling of happiness! This genuine happiness may be short-lived, but it can definitely start to decrease your negative emotions straight away.
Perform an Act of Kindness:
It is such a great feeling to know that you have helped someone out or made someone feel good about themselves, so do it when you need to improve your mood! Some quick and easy examples would be leaving a positive comment on someone’s content or offering to help someone out with whatever they are currently doing (without an ulterior motive).
Clearly laughing is one of the best ways of improving your mood as this action is the epitome of happiness! You should find something that you can always rely on to genuinely make you laugh, such as a stand-up comedian you love, a funny photo you have or a funny anecdote you can think about.
Spend Time with your Pet:
The whole concept of having a pet makes you feel good as they are a cute, reliable friend of a different species! Specifically you could cuddle your dog, play with your cat or admire your fish to quickly boost your frame of mind.
Reflecting on happy times in the past is a great way to bring some positive emotions quickly into the present. You could look at old photos, watch past videos or just reminisce on happy memories that you can think of.
Immerse yourself in Nature:
Nature is so incredible and often the simple action of being near or surrounded by it instantly makes you feel good. Just stop and appreciate everything about it; the refreshing smells, the stunning views, the amazing colours, the beautiful flora and fauna…the list is endless!
Writing down or just thinking about who or what you are grateful for is super important. It puts things into perspective which causes everything you have to make you feel good and lucky straight away.
