I often find myself claiming to be bored when in fact there are so many things that I could be doing, I just can’t decide what specifically! So, I decided to write a list that I can easily refer to of things that I can do when I’m bored, which I keep on my bedside table. I thought it would be nice to share with you guys this list in the hopes that if you are bored you have some inspiration for what to do! 🙂
Reading is such a great hobby to do when you’re bored as there are so many books in the world that there is bound to be something that suits you. I keep the book that I’m currently reading on my bedside table so it is easily accessible to read whenever I am bored and I’ve got a long list of books I want to read so I have no excuses not to read when I’m bored!
Exercise is perfect to do when you don’t know what to do because you might as well spend your spare time effectively by getting fit! It doesn’t even have to be a long workout, just something to stop your boredom or fill up time until you can think of something else more fun to do.
Play a Board/Card Game:
Playing a board game or card game is a great activity to prevent boredom that you can do with friends or family, or just simply by yourself. Whether it is a physical game or an online version, it is so easy to have some fun playing board/card games such as Monopoly, Solitaire and Cluedo 🙂
By this I mean anything from doing assigned homework, watching documentaries, reading informative articles; the opportunities are endless! I just think that it is a good idea to spend time learning about the world in any way that works for you as I believe that more education is never a bad thing, especially if you can’t think of anything else to do!
Cooking is a nice activity to do when you are bored as you can have fun experimenting with new food combinations or trying recipes from the multiple cookbooks or online recipes that you probably have easy access to.
A productive way to spend your time not being bored is to organise or clean. This can range from folding the clothes in your wardrobe, wiping surfaces and emptying the bins, just to name a few!
Do a Puzzle:
If you don’t know what to do, try a puzzle! Whether it is a jigsaw puzzle or a logic puzzle, it is a fun task that challenges your brain and will stop you from being bored.
I find that planning outfits is a useful and enjoyable thing to do when I don’t know what to do. This could involve just mentally figuring out outfits to wear or physically trying on and experimenting with different clothes, accessories and shoes.
Colouring is a relaxing hobby that’s great when you don’t know what to do as it requires little effort for cool results. All you need is a colouring book or paper and some coloured pencils and you are good to go!
Use Beauty Products:
I really enjoy spending time using beauty products when I can’t think of anything else to do. Sometimes I put on a face mask or do my skincare routine or even experiment with makeup looks as I am very much still learning with makeup 🙂
Whether you are a talented artist or just enjoy DIY projects, creating art is a great way to cease your boredom. You could find inspiration from literally anywhere on the internet or use your own creativity to make whatever art pieces you wish to.
Go on a Walk:
This is literally the easiest thing to do when you don’t know what to do but it’s so rewarding. Just simply go outside and take a nice walk in the fresh air. Maybe take a family member or friend and have fun talking about random stuff or take your dog if you have one, it’ll definitely put an end to your boredom!
