How keeleyalexandra began:
My blog began in January of 2017, it’s crazy to think I’ve had it for just over 2 years! In those summer holidays my dad had mentioned that he got some websites that myself and my sisters could use for whatever we wanted. I was intrigued by the idea of having my own website and was imagining creating a blog like Zoella’s, a YouTuber and blogger that I loved then. So, with the help of my dad, I began setting up my blog and decided to call it my first name and middle name combined as I didn’t want to get sick of it and change it later on. From there I just began writing posts about whatever I wanted to and made my categories accordingly. And I’ve been creating posts every since and a year ago I branched out to Instagram to advertise my posts and connect with other bloggers like Alexandrina. I love having a blog, it’s a record of my experiences and achievements and a place where I can share important messages or entertaining posts.
Advice for new bloggers:
My first piece of advice for new bloggers would be to make sure you are ultimately doing this for yourself. It’s great to have heaps of readers of your blog that you might look to for inspiration and support but the posts you produce should make you just as happy and proud of publishing it. And if you don’t have a lot of readers then it’s more important to do it for yourself and not get bogged down in number of readers, commenters etc. and think about the hobby aspect of blogging.
Another thing that I think is important when blogging is that it shouldn’t be stressful so post however frequently you want. It’s better to produce good quality posts that you are happy with once a month rather than lots of average posts twice a week that stress you out because you can’t think of enough ideas quick enough. Besides, your mental health comes first and if you’re stressing about it then your readers will most likely understand that you can’t post frequently. Blogging should be a happy, stress-free hobby (or job) so do what’s best for you.
Finally, I think it’s super essential to engage with other blogs and bloggers. It’s so cool to see what other bloggers around the world are posting on their blogs and it’s nice to become friends with people who share similar interests. Additionally, you can be inspired for your blog, create collabs with other bloggers and share the love around the blogging community 🙂
